Childcare Resource & Referral

This page is intended for HUB staff and volunteers to access and share childcare resources in Metro Vancouver, aiming to reduce childcare as a barrier to working with HUB. By providing this list, HUB offers a first step towards helping ensure that lack of childcare services does not prevent individuals from engaging with HUB's initiatives and programs.

Below is a list of childcare resources and referrals in Metro Vancouver (last updated August 28, 2024). We acknowledge that this list is not comprehensive and invite you to contribute additional resources by contacting us at idea.hub@bikehub.ca.

 

Organizational Grants or Funding

 

Community and social service grants for non-profit organizations

Grants not specifically for child care services, but can be used towards projects or workshops that require such services.

BC Child Care Map

BC-wide map that helps people search for childcare facilities in their area.

$10 a Day ChildCareBC

Aims to provide affordable childcare options in British Columbia, making childcare more accessible to families by reducing fees to $10 per day for participating facilities. Please note that spaces are limited, and spots fill up quickly.

YMCA BC Child Care Resource & Referral

Offers support to families, childcare workforce, and providers. Provides child care referrals, resources, and information to help raise happy and healthy children. This includes professional development, networking opportunities, and support services.

Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre

Provides parents and guardians with tools and resources to help find quality child care in Vancouver.

Affordable Childcare Benefit

A financial assistance program for eligible families in Canada to help with the cost of childcare, based on factors like income and family size.

Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative

This initiative reduces childcare fees for families, applied directly by participating licensed childcare providers to lower the cost for parents.

Child Care Resource and Referral Centres

Offer support, resources, and referrals for parents looking for childcare and childcare providers, including information on licensing and professional development.

Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre

Provides information, support, and training to childcare providers and families in BC, focusing on quality care and early learning.

Abbotsford Child Care Resource & Referral

Supports child care providers through referrals, workshops, training, networking, consultation, facility visits, and a resource library. Supports parents & guardians by providing childcare referrals, information on selecting a quality child care environment that will best suit their needs, and assistance with the Affordable Child Care Benefit.
